Emergency financial assistance is offered on a limited basis. There must be an emergency, you must be a resident of Orange County for at least 1 year, and if you have received assistance from another agency within the past 3 months, it is possible you will not qualify with us and you will be referred back to that agency.
During a phone screening a staff member will ask questions, but the documentation that is needed will not be asked of until the date of your appointment. You must bring copies of all the documents, which include:
- ID for the head of household
- SS Cards for everyone in the household,
- proof of expenses (bills),
- proof of income (pay stubs, food stamp letter, etc.),
- and proof of emergency.
A few other things may be asked for, like the landlord’s phone and fax number or job searches, but that is dependent upon your situation.
Emergency Financial Assistance criteria may change, depending upon the case requirements.
